Junior Members

To facilitate involvement in INI activities, early-career researchers (research students or individuals within 5 years of receiving a PhD taking account of career breaks) are invited to register as Junior Members of the Isaac Newton Institute. Junior members will receive:

  • advance information about INI programmes, workshops, and other events
  • specific information about instructional workshops and about workshops likely to be of interest to early-career researchers
  • information about suitable funding for INI visits
INI has limited funds for supporting Junior Members to attend programmes (for visits of up to two weeks to work with long-term programme participants) or workshops. Junior Members wishing to apply for funding to attend a particular programme or workshop should email the Programme & Visitor Co-ordinator (programmes[at][dot]uk).  Applications will be reviewed by the programme/workshop organisers, and applicants will be notified whether their application was successful.
When applying to visit INI (other than to attend a workshop) Junior Members should specify which of the longer-term participants they plan to work with, and seek their agreement in advance.
Funds are limited and applications should be made as early as possible, and in any case at least two months before the intended visit.
