INI is committed to removing barriers to participation in its Programmes. It strives to facilitate necessary child or other care support, as appropriate, on a case-by-case basis with the recommendation of Programme Organisers.
Assistance can take the form of :
- Providing details of school places (via Cambridgeshire County Council’s website: https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/residents/children-and-families/schools-&-learning/apply-for-a-school-place)
- Providing details of childcare (via https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/residents/children-and-families/childcare-and-early-learning/)
- Accessing ‘Emergency Childcare' agency, who can provide a personal search for care (child care or other) where participants are unable to source this themselves
- Applying for a reduction in housing cost supplements at INI housing for accompanying children and/or carers
- Applying for funding to pay for childcare/nursery fees (where this is over and above any such fees currently being paid)
- Applying for funding for other care assistance
To apply for funding, please complete this form and send to administrator[at]newton.ac[dot]uk
All requests for financial support will be forwarded in the first instance to principal Programme Organiser for approval.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Administrator for any advice or guidance in requesting support.
Please note :
- INI will only pay childcare for pre-school age children; it is expected that children >4 will attend state school.
- INI will ask for verification that any childcare fees at home institutions will still need to be paid to hold nursery/childcare places open during the child’s absence.
- The funding cannot be used for private school education for school-age children.
- Applicants should not contact Emergency Childcare directly, please fill in the "Application for childcare funding" in the first instance.
- Emergency Childcare cannot be used for search for holiday clubs. It is expected the participants will source and pay for these themselves.
- INI funding cannot pay for holiday clubs if a participant is bringing (and INI is paying for) an accompanying person to look after the child, or the child is in nursery care.
- The accommodation supplement can only be paid through this funding scheme if not bringing the child(ren) would inhibit the participant from attending, or an adult/parent is accompanying the participant to provide care.
